1. Purpose and scope

Religious content is offered for general information, remembrance and spiritual awareness. It is not a fatwa, religious ruling, academic edition or personal religious advice.

When in doubt, consult an authoritative religious source or a qualified religious professional.

2. Quran verses and translations

Arabic Quran text and Turkish translations are based on the Presidency of Religious Affairs Quran Portal; Turkish uses its published translation. English and French content is presented with its source identified in the app.

No substantive change is made to source text. Only line breaks, spacing and similar display formatting may be adjusted. Surah and verse numbers are shown where possible.

A translation conveys meaning in another language; it is not the Quranic text itself. Arabic text and translation are identified separately.
  • Presidency of Religious Affairs Quran Portal

3. Hadith sources

Hadith content is based on Imam al-Bukhari’s Sahih al-Bukhari. The open-source Hadith API dataset published by Fawaz Ahmed assists digital text and book, chapter and number references.

Hadith API is an independent digital project, not an original hadith source or official religious authority. Numbering can differ between editions.

Where translator or publisher details are unavailable, text is not attributed to a specific translator and is not claimed to be an independently verified official translation.

  • Open-source Hadith API dataset

4. Editorial approach

Complete elimination of translation, spelling, digital-transfer or numbering errors cannot be guaranteed.

  • do not add or remove material that changes source meaning
  • show surah/verse or work/book/chapter/hadith references where possible
  • clearly separate app-authored explanations and questions from source text
  • review reported errors and correct or temporarily unpublish content when needed

5. Independence statement

Bir Nefes is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or prepared by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, Imam al-Bukhari, the Hadith API project or other named sources and rights holders. Names are used only for attribution and transparency.

Rights in source texts and translations belong to their owners; rights in the Bir Nefes brand, software, design, selection and original explanations belong to ContraWorks or their owners.

6. Reporting errors or sources

Report spelling, meaning, source or numbering issues to destek@birnefes.app. Include the content type, surah/verse or hadith reference, screenshot and suggested verification source when possible.
